This is going to sound weird, but I needed to buy some underwear yesterday and I dragged my friends along with me. Then we got to talking about how men are more embarrassed when buying underwear than women. Let’s face it, everyone wears them, but still if you notice the men’s underwear department is discreetly hidden in the work out clothes and the women’s underwear has a whole section dedicated just to underwear. Also, men’s underwear is usually always wrapped up in plastic packaging and women’s underwear are all on display on hangers.
My friend in his blog points out the general steps that a man does when buying underwear (and we aren’t exaggerating! This really is what we do):
- We locate an inexpensive item such as a shirt or something else.
- We then proceed to glance around at the underwear to decide what we like.
- Then when no one is looking we grab the underwear that we want and proceed to hide them underneath the shirt or other piece of clothing.
- Then we go and check out and avoid eye contact with the person checking us out
I know, pathetic.
