Today I got the results back on the bloodwork from the needle stick. It came back negative for HIV, and Hepatitis B & C. I thought I would let everyone know.

So today, I showed up at the lab at 4am to start blood draws (which were going very well) until something unfortunate happened. I was just finishing up with a patient when I stuck myself with the needle while disposing of it. We went through all the necessary precautions, had my blood drawn and so on. They are running tests and should get the results sometime next week. So the doctor in the ER said it should be fine, since I am up to date on immunizations, but to come back if it gets red or puss starts oozing out. So I will keep everyone updated on how that goes.
